Chickie Wah Wah to Host Prince Tribute

Chickie Wah Wah will host a tribute to Prince on Tuesday, May 24. Led by producer and musician Graham Hawthorne, the show will honor the late, great funk and soul superstar with unique big band arrangements.

The music will be performed by the High Standards Orchestra, a group that features Hawthorne (drums), Elmo Price (bass), Matt Galloway (guitar) Alexander Geddes (sax) and Peter Gustafson (trombone). Joining them will be special guests Eric “Benny” Bloom (trumpet) and Shea Pierre (piano), along with vocalists GIO and Quienna Lynell.

The show will be similar to Hawthorne’s January 2016 tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, which also took place at Chickie Wah Wah. Fans can expect to hear many of Prince’s greatest hits, as well as other tunes that were inspired by him.

Tickets for the show will be available at the door.
