CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Bravo’s Andy Cohen, and The Spotted Cat Announce Last Minute NYE Bash

Ferris Bueller once mused: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Bueller definitely had a point.

After plans came together with CNN producers yesterday, Cheryl Abaña-Emmer, general manager of The Spotted Cat was frantically getting the word out that the network had asked the local venue to livestream as a part of their fourth annual New Year’s Eve broadcast. Brice Miller with Twisted Dixie will be livestreaming via the Spotted Cat Facebook page starting at 9:30 p.m. CST and continuing through midnight while CNN will check in on national television at 9:45 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. CST.

The New Year’s Event came about by request of Spotted Cat fan and CNN host Brooke Baldwin. Abaña-Emmer joked with Baldwin recently, “Last year you guys did the broadcast from Nashville and that’s why 2020 happened! You got to get Spotted Cat back in on the New Year’s Eve action!”

Plans just got ironed out yesterday all parties, CNN, venue, and production, are taking staying safe very seriously. Abaña-Emmer noted the Bravo and Andy Cohen connection to the Spotted Cat and our January cover star, Robin Barnes. Barnes, who is a regular on Bravo’s Southern Charm New Orleans, is a Sunday night staple at the local venue and her husband, Pat Casey has performed there every Sunday for over 10 years. Cohen’s Bravo series has filmed at The Spotted Cat.

Viewers who tune in via CNN can participate live and share their New Year’s greetings using #CNNNYE, and CNN may feature them on the bottom ticker throughout the evening.
