CORE Benefit Concert During Jazz Fest Raises $75,000 for Humanitarian Relief Efforts Worldwide

CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), the emergency relief non-profit co-founded by Sean Penn and Ann Lee, hosted a benefit concert during the 2023 New Orleans Jazz Fest. The show featured performances by Grammy winner Diplo, nominated artist Big Freedia, and DJ Mia Moretti.

The concert on Thursday, May 4 at The Metropolitan raised $75,000, highlighting the power of music in uniting and uplifting vulnerable communities. The funds raised will support CORE’s vital efforts in providing humanitarian relief and recovery to underserved populations worldwide. This includes the ongoing Ukraine humanitarian crisis and emergency relief for communities in Turkey in the wake of devastating earthquakes.

CORE is a global crisis response organization that brings immediate aid and long-term recovery solutions to underserved communities. When a crisis strikes, CORE responds to fill gaps, mobilize resources, and establish trust and collaboration from within communities. The organization has provided critical relief to marginalized and vulnerable populations since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The concert was attended by hundreds of supporters and fans of the performing artists, who enjoyed a night of music while supporting a good cause.
