Culture Campout: A Weekend of Music, Dance, Food and Culture

Don’t miss the 1st Annual Culture Campout weekend Friday December 1-Sunday Dec 3. The event promises to be a memorable weekend of music, dance, food , workshops and culture featuring: Sun Pie Barnes, Margie Perez, Jeffrey Broussard and the Nightime Syndicate, Music Machine Brass Band, Nola Square Dance, Mariachi Moderno Internacional,  T Marie and Bayou Juju, Ian Monroe, Bad Penny Pleasuremakers, Louisiana Dance Roots, Joshua Hernandez, Drake Leblanc, Bryant Watson, and more!

The one-of-a-kind weekend’s platform will focus on building community and exploring and sharing the rich tapestry of diverse cultures that make our region so unique. It also includes a variety of workshops that focus on music, dance, and cultural sharing.

The mission of this innagural event is to honor traditions, ancestors, and cultures, while creating a welcoming space where individuals of all ages and experiences can connect with their roots, explore diverse cultures, and discover their own unique voices in harmony with others and to create an inclusive space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of expertise can come together.  The goal is to foster a sense of belonging, breaking down barriers and promoting understanding among diverse groups.

Culture Campout will be at Fontainebleau State Park, Group Camp 1. There are day passes, dorm, and tent camping options. Registration is free for Youth and work exchange volunteers. For further information check out the website here.
