The Don “Moose” Jamison Heritage School of Music is celebrating a new class of graduates as students from its Heritage School of Music and Pro-Audio Workshop programs prepare to begin the next chapter of their academic and creative journeys.
This year’s graduating seniors will pursue a wide range of fields, from music performance and audio production to engineering, neuroscience, education, fashion, and law. Several students have also earned scholarships and special honors as they continue their studies at colleges and universities across the United States and Canada.
Among the graduates, pianist Alex P. plans to continue his education in jazz piano after receiving scholarship offers from Loyola University New Orleans, LSU New Orleans, and the University of Memphis. Vocalist Malia S. will attend Rice University to major in vocal performance, while brass student Joynal A. will study music technology and entrepreneurship at Southern University and A&M College, where he has also been selected to perform with the famed Human Jukebox marching band, the Southern University Jazz Ensemble, and the Symphony Orchestra.
Other graduates heading into music-related fields include Susana C., who will study Recording Arts and Sciences at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, and Josiah M., who will attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago on a merit scholarship, majoring in fashion with a minor in audio/sound engineering and production.
The Class of 2026 will also be represented at institutions including LSU, McGill University, Mississippi State University, Auburn University, Providence College, and Johns Hopkins University, pursuing studies in subjects ranging from mathematics education and graphic design to wildlife management, civil engineering, neuroscience, history, and French.
The Don “Moose” Jamison Heritage School of Music congratulates its graduates and looks forward to seeing how the discipline, creativity, and confidence they developed through their studies continue to shape their future accomplishments. From Louisiana to Canada and beyond, the school’s newest alumni are poised to make their mark in a variety of fields.
