Flow Tribe frontman K.C. O’Rorke to debut K.C. and The Irresistibles

Flow Tribe frontman K.C. O’Rorke will debut his new project—K.C. and The Irresistibles—on Tuesday, May 23. The show will take place at 8pm at the Royal Sonesta’s Jazz Playhouse in the French Quarter, where Flow Tribe took the stage during the venue’s first Funk Week earlier this year.

The new band finds O’Rorke teaming up with his Flow Tribe bandmates Mario Palmisano (guitar) and Chad Penot (bass), as well as Scott Sibley (drums) and Drew Meez (keys). With a soul, jazz and swing vibe, the group is a little bit different from his main project.

“One of my biggest influences is Louis Prima,” O’Rorke explains. “I love the way he defined lounge culture in the 50’s and 60’s. The Irresistibles hope to bring that same swinging sensibility and mix it with original tunes and covers across the musical spectrum.”

The past few weeks have busy ones for O’Rorke. In addition to putting together The Irresistibles, he’s also celebrated the release of Flow Tribe’s latest album, BOSS. The 10-track effort was recorded at The Parlor Record Studio and produced by Grammy-nominated New Orleans icon Mannie Fresh. The group is currently in the midst of a lengthy summer tour in support of the new album, but it hasn’t stopped O’Rorke, Palmisano and Penot from pouring their hearts into the The Irresistibles.
