Video Premiere: Flow Tribe Proves Who’s Boss This Holiday Season…

At Downman Sounds, which Flow Tribe affectionately refers to as its ‘home studio,’ a new video off the chart-topping album Boss was recently filmed. The studio is jam-packed with musicians as Christmas lights casually hover above their heads. As the camera pans from horn player to background vocalist to bassist and finally to K.C. O’Rorke, we hear the chorus croon, “I don’t need that job no more, I don’t need that job.”

Although beginning with a slower opening than recent video releases of the album, such as “Blackmail,” the song still carries all the irresistible eclectic charm that make Flow Tribe a steadfast in New Orleans music.

Debuting on OffBeat.com, the video for the LP’s titular track features the six-man group joined with horn players Evan Oberla, Ari Kohn, and Cyrus Nabipoor from Brass Lightning, with background vocals provided by Kayla Jasmine and Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph of Tank and the Bangas, as well as Andrew Meehan aka Drew Meez on keys and synths.

You can see Flow Tribe live at the crew’s annual “Christmas Crunktacular” concert, on December 23 at Tipitina’s. Doors open at 9 p.m. for the 18+ show. Tickets are available here for $16.
