Foo Fighters to lead historic Mardi Gras parade with special guests

While the world is celebrating Valentine’s Day on February 14, New Orleans will be celebrating Carnival season. On that day, Foo Fighters will make history as the first band to lead its own Mardi Gras parade through downtown New Orleans.

The special event, being called The Krewe du Foo and the Broken Hearts Social Club Parade, is a partnership with the band and the Fillmore NOLA. The Foo Fighters will perform two sold-out shows for the venue’s opening weekend, on February 15 and 16.

Foo Fighters will be joined by Krewe du Foo all-stars  Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and DJ Raj Smoove, with Krewes Camel Toe Lady Steppers and many more. Naturally, an event this special will come with special throws while the parade rolls. The parade route starts at 7 p.m. on Howard Ave., proceeds past Lee Circle, down St. Charles Ave., then hits Canal St. to end at The Fillmore entrance at Harrah’s Casino.

As if the parade wasn’t enough, there will be a post-parade party at the Masquerade Nightclub inside Harrah’s New Orleans. This is a free concert (for those 21+) featuring Left of Centre, a rock band that has performed with Heart, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Sammy Hagar to Toby Keith, Jake Owen, and Kenny Chesney.
