French Quarter Strip Clubs’ Alcohol Permits Suspended on Prostitution, Drug Violations

Bourbon Street has always been a haven for various kinds of legalized debauchery, but it looks like a few clubs on the famed thoroughfare will suffer consequences for allegedly dabbling on the wrong side of the law.

NOLA.com reports that five strip clubs and bars in the Bourbon Street area have had their alcohol permits temporarily revoked after an undercover operation by the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control and the Louisiana State Police found evidence of drug and prostitution violations.

The establishments that have been cited are Centerfolds Fais Deaux Deaux, Lipstixx/Fais Deaux Deau, The Mansion on Bourbon, Chez Joey and Dixie Divas. Additionally, ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert said that seven more clubs and bars may also have their alcohol permits suspended, though he did not name any of them.

The owners of the venues will be able to dispute the violations when they face an administrative hearing within roughly a month. The hearing could result in fines, longer suspensions or a permanent revocation of alcohol permits.  Hebert noted that the emergency permit suspensions were implemented in order to halt the violations ahead of Halloween weekend.
