Frenchmen Art Bazaar returns with Dohm Collective installation

The Frenchmen Art Bazaar will open on Friday, January 28, in an outdoor space at 619 Frenchmen Street formerly occupied by d.b.a. In May 2021 the live music venue expanded its operations with an outdoor stage and table-eating area that had formerly been the site of an art market. The newly revived art market will host more than 20 arts and crafts vendors three nights a week with no cover charge to the public with a special events space located at the rear of the property.

Dohm Collective will cohost the grand opening with “Circle in the Square,” three days of silent performances. Dohm Collective, a local artist-operated platform, will deliver an immersive and unique production, including a 24-foot geodesic “Dohm” with three channels of music and projections for visitors to choose from each night.

Frenchmen Art Bazaar will be curated by New Orleans-based events team Fox Pocket. The space will also offer special event opportunities in collaboration with property owner Gregor Fox. Organizers will also collaborate with d.b.a. to curate events at the art bazaar.

On February 5, Frenchmen Art Bazaar will host a party in celebration of the Krewe of Chewbacchus as the science fiction-themed parade rolls along Frenchmen Street. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit here.
