George Porter Jr. and Zigaboo Modeliste’s Foundation of Funk Announces Tour, Jazz Fest Show

Foundation of Funk, a rotating funk supergroup anchored by George Porter Jr. and Zigaboo Modeliste, has announced a run of Northeast dates, as well as a Jazz Fest after show.

The Jazz Fest gig will take place on Saturday, April 23 at 2am (technically Sunday, April 24) at the House of Blues New Orleans. That show will find the group joined by Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan Neville and Tony Hall.

A few weeks later, the band will head north for a series of shows that see Porter and Modeliste augmented by Lettuce/Soulive’s Eric Krasno and Neal Evans. The run will begin in Boston on May 17 before swinging through Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn and Ardmore, PA.

Tickets for all of the Northeast shows will go on sale this Friday, March 11 at 10am CT. Tickets for the Jazz Fest late night are available here.
