HaSizzle debuts video for ‘Wanna Be Love’

HaSizzle, the bounce recording artist who appeared on the cover of the January 2022 digital edition of OffBeat, debuted a video for his new song “Wanna Be Love” today. The video, filmed at the Marigny Opera House and Kermit Ruffins Tremé Mother in Law Lounge, features HaSizzle as a preacher officiating a wedding between Kayla Jasmine as the bride and Michael Bordenave as the groom. The song was written along with Jasmine, 3d Na’Tee and Reggie Nic. The story was conceived by Jimi Clever and Raj Smoove and the video was produced by Damian Gordon for Rich in Spirit and GenRise Entertainment.

As HaSizzle is prone to exclaim, “Getcha sum” by watching the video:

As reported on in our 2022 January cover story, “Oftentimes the elements of bounce music are utilized across other genres of music as only a garnish that adds a distinct flavor to a song (think Beyoncé’s opening sample for ‘Formation’). HaSizzle—known to some as the ‘The Voice’—believes now is the time for
bounce to be the building block instead. ‘Multiple mainstream artists come down here and
use us as samples, and I think it’s time for that to stop,’ he said. ‘I think it's time for us to
be featured on some of these songs with these artists, and also let these artists be featured
on our music.'”
