Just as summer is starting, the air conditioner has died at the Community Book Center (2523 Bayou Rd.). To raise money for a replacement, they’re having a fundraising dinner Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. They’re serving fish, chicken, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, BBQ tofu and veggie rice, salad plates, vegetables and dessert.
