House of Blues to Host Trumpet Black Tribute June 5

James Andrews, Partners-N-Crime and the Big Easy Band, and the New Breed Brass Band will all perform in honor of Travis “Trumpet Black” Hill at a special tribute concert at the House of Blues New Orleans on June 5.

One of the rising stars in New Orleans’ music scene, Hill passed away on May 4, 2015, at the age of 28, soon after arriving in Tokyo, Japan, ahead of a performance.

The young trumpeter had just finished off a triumphant weekend at Jazz Fest, performing with his cousin James Andrews.

Hailing from a musical dynasty, Trumpet Black was also the cousin of Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and Glen David Andrews.

Hill was quickly gaining notoriety on the international music scene, and was one of the most sought after young musicians. He was set to perform at this event, along with his band The Heart Attack.

James Andrews will take over his spot in what will most certainly be a memorable and honorable performance in his place.

Tickets will be available for purchase online at LiveNation.com, HouseofBlues.com, and Ticketmaster.
