Born and raised in New Orleans, James Seville blends alternative hip-hop and psych-pop to create a distinct musical style gaining attention in the Southern music scene. “Truth Is” offers a candid exploration of a past relationship, with James showcasing his musical versatility by transitioning from an infectious synth-pop beat to a southern trap rhythm. The “Truth Is” music video adds a visual dimension to the song’s narrative, featuring James in a symbolic pursuit of what can be interpreted as “truth.”

James Seville is steadily gaining recognition and anticipation for his upcoming album in 2023. A self-taught songwriter, producer, and engineer, James draws inspiration from various artists, including Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, and Tame Impala.

With a track record of performing at local festivals such as BUKU and sharing the stage with acts like Snakehips and Pell, James Seville has spent the last two years refining his craft and accumulating over 2.5 million streams: “I made a conscious effort these last few years to take a step back from releasing music and focused all of my efforts on discovering and perfecting my sound.” Notably, his work has earned recognition from artists like G-Eazy and Rockie Fresh, solidifying his presence in the local scene.
