John Medeski to Debut New Supergroup at Jazz Fest After Show

Medeski, Martin & Wood keyboardist John Medeski will join forces with acclaimed bassist MonoNeon for a show at One Eyed Jacks during Jazz Fest. JamBase reports that the new supergroup,dubbed Neon-Medeski, will also feature Robert Walter (Greyboy Allstars), drummer Daru Jones (Jack White), saxophonist Skerik, DJ Logic and other special guests.

The show is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 30, and will be followed by a separate late-night performance from Eric Krasno, Wil Blades and Stanton.

Medeski has been a Jazz Fest regular for a number of years, and is already scheduled to play an after show with MMW and Nels Cline during this year’s festival. MonoNeon is best known for his work with Prince, though he’s also collaborated with R&B star Ne-Yo and Snarky Puppy side project Ghost Note.
