John “Papa” Gros will return to Oak Street on Friday, November 7, for an 11 p.m. show with his Friends at The Maple Leaf.

The “friends” in this show will be Brian Stoltz of the Funky Meters, John Fohl of Dr. John’s band, Russ Broussard of Susan Cowsill’s band and Eric Vogel of Big Sam’s Funky Nation.
They’ll be playing an awesome selection of New Orleans funk from Papa Grows Funk, The Meters, Dr. John and more.
Gros has spent much of the past few months away travelling and performing, and it’s great to have him back in town, especially at the Maple Leaf, the former headquarters of Papa Grows Funk.
