Ochsner Medical Center will once again present the King Cake Festival, an annual celebration of the signature New Orleans confection.

This year’s 6th annual King Cake Fest takes place Sunday, January 27 at Champion’s Square/Club XLIV. Both classic King Cake and versions with a special twist will be on showcase at the family-friendly affair, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Vendors include:

Langenstein’s
Bywater Bakery
Krystal’s Kreations
Clauda’s King Cakes
Winn Dixie
The Cupcake Collection
Buttermilk Drop Bakery
Balestra’s
and many more!

There will be a King Cake competition among bakeries vying for the gold in categories like Best Presentation, Most Unique, Best Traditional, People’s Choice and more.

The event benefits Ochsner Hospital for Children, so there will be tons of family-oriented and heart-healthy activities like games and live music. Performers include:

Phil Melancon
One South Lark

Dwayne Dopsie

Though King Cake Fest is free and open to the public, there is a fee to taste king cakes. For $20, attendees can purchase ten tickets (each sample costs one ticket). Donations are highly encouraged. For more information, click here.
