KISS to Ride in Endymion

The Krewe of Endymion will welcome KISS, Flo Rida, and KC and The Sunshine Band to its annual post-parade Extravaganza.

NOLA.com reports that the super krewe announced the news during a press conferene at Mardi Gras World earlier today.

The Endymion Extravaganza will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome after the parade rolls through Mid-City on Saturday, February 25 (three days days before Fat Tuesday). Extravaganza performers are traditionally invited to ride in the parade itself, though not all of them accept the the offer.

According to The Advocate, KISS have elected to take part in a portion of the parade action. The band will board a float near the Joy Theater on Canal Street and stick around until the procession terminates at the Dome. It will be something of a full circle endeavor for the rockers, who were originally scheduled to ride in the 1979 Endymion parade before a police strike forced a cancellation of the festivities.

The Krewe of Endymion–one of New Orleans’ largest super krewes–celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2016. Last year’s Extravaganza featured sets from Aerosmith icon Steven Tyler and Pitbull.
