Krewe of Boo’s official New Orleans Halloween parade set for October 20

This weekend, the ghastly, ghouly and gory are all invited to participate in the 2018 Krewe of Boo parade.

On Saturday, October 20, the “BOO CARRÉ” will host the parade and party, which will feature Krewe of Boo’s signature “beautifully horrific props and sculptures.” At its reigns is Kern Studios, a premier float-building organization who delights parade watchers with three-dimensional props aimed to excite and fright onlookers.

This year, Krewe of Boo’s parade throws will include Eco Friendly cups from Giacona Container Company, Pralinettes from Aunt Sally’s, PJs Coffee Frac Packs, Collectible Light Up Medallion Beads, Chee Wees from Elmer’s Fine Foods, Plush Toys, Krewe of BOO! Limited Edition Shirts and more. These offerings reflect Krewe of Boo’s decision to “go green” and instead focus on “New Orleans-made food items and local collectible objects parade goers will want to consume or keep as mementos of the exciting new celebration.”

Kicking off at 6:30 p.m., the parade plan is as follows:

  1. Assemble at Elysian Fields
  2. Parade Down Elysian Fields to North Peters St.
  3. North Peters to Decatur
  4. Decatur past Jackson Square to North Peters
  5. North Peters to Canal
  6. Up Canal St. to Burgundy St. then U-turn
  7. Down Canal to Tchoupitoulas
  8. Tchoupitoulas to Andrew Higgins Drive
