On Wednesday, April 18, burlesque performer and For the Love Of founder Picolla Tushy will present the event at the Howlin’ Wolf Den (907 S. Peters St.). Other burlesque performers, comedians, poets and storytellers will take to the stage at the fundraiser, which will charge a suggested donation of $10 at the door. All proceeds will go directly to Hurricane Maria survivors who continue to live without electricity in the wake of the September 2017 storm.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and performances begin at 7 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. Described as a “come and go as you please” event, the For the Love Of series has raised over $2,000 for local, national and international non-profits including S.T.A.R. (Sexual Awareness and Response), the LGBT Community Center and Friday Night Before Mardi Gras. The April 18 installment will feature Camille Roane, Sam Brantley, ZW Mohr, Dick Jones and many more.
