Maple Leaf Bar to donate partial ticket sales to New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic

Beginning this month, the Maple Leaf Bar in Uptown New Orleans is collaborating with the New Orleans Musicians’ Assistance Foundation (NOMAF).

The celebrated live-music venue and watering hole (located at 8316 Oak Street) will donate one dollar from each online advance ticket sale it receives. For now, only Friday and Saturday night shows will have online ticketing available, with a few other select shows expected to be made available for online purchase.

According to a press release, “The Maple Leaf staff is proud to give back to the community of musicians that play the club; the donation of each ticket sale will provide much needed heath care to the patients of the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic (NOMC).”

NOMAF is an assistance program which evolved from the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. NOMAF works to extend the services of NOMC by “providing cost-efficient access to direct health care, mental health support and social services for 2500 performing artist patients through the NOMC, in addition to promoting wellness & preventive health education, musician advocacy and support in the broader, indigenous New Orleans music community.”
