Naughty Professor partners with the Howlin’ Wolf for “Shredder Session” residency

Naughty Professor, the New Orleans based, critically acclaimed, internationally touring sextet, have partnered with The Howlin’ Wolf to present the “Wednesday Shredder Sessions” residency. Each session will be curated by a different member of the band and will feature a wide array of talent, from up-and-coming locals to nationally touring artists, all performed in an intimate seated setup.

Derived from what started as a series of Instagram posts from individual band members “shredding” on their instrument of which eventually became the band’s Everyday Shredder EP, the now dubbed Shredder Sessions aim to continue to showcase Naughty Professor as not only a brand of individually talented musicians, but also continue to explore their collaborative side.

“Naughty Professor has always been this six-headed monster of talent, with each individual being a prodigy in his own right” says Howlin’ Wolf talent buyer Stu Schayot, who is also a part of the band’s management team. “The idea with these shredder sessions is to not only create an avenue to showcase each members’ solo projects, but to let the band explore it’s collaborative prowess by cultivating the massive ecosystem of local and national talent they’ve worked with over the past decade.”  With names like David Shaw, Marcus King, Chali 2na, Isaiah Sharkey, Griz, and Vance Joy amongst the names included in the band’s collaborative ecosystem, it’s easy to see how Naughty Professor as a band and individual players have cemented themselves as a New Orleans staple.

Saxophonist Nick Ellman adds, “The opportunity to perform our solo projects as well as create a platform to enrich our musical family is an exciting evolution for us both as a band and individual players.  We look forward to creating a unique experience every week that hopefully becomes a staple New Orleans residency.”

The Wednesday Shredder Sessions will begin on July 7 at 8pm. General admission seating is $10. Tables of two and four can be purchased as well for $30 and $60.  Advance tickets are available at thehowlinwolf.com.
