New Orleans Artists to Pay Tribute to Joe Cocker

An assortment of New Orleans-based musicians will celebrate the life and music of Joe Cocker with a show at One Eyed Jack’s on Saturday, March 26.

Billed as “Mad Dogs & Englishmen: A New Orleans Tribute to Joe Cocker,: the event will feature a rotating supergroup comprised of Sean Carey, Alex McMurray, Mark Paradis, Antoine Diel, Arsene Delay, Margie Perez, Dana Abbott, Lucas Davenport, Amy Trails, Jamey St. Pierre, Marc Stone, Tom Worrell, Brad Walker, Anny Abel, Mark Levron, Luke Quaranta, Colin Davis, Taylor Mills, Will Thompson and Scott Jackson.

Cocker, who performed at Jazz Fest 2009, passed away in December of 2014. Known for his unique voice and performance style, he rose to prominence following a legendary performance at Woodstock. Cocker returned to the spotlight in the 1980s, when he won a Grammy for his “Where We Belong duet with Jennier Williams, and his cover of the Beatles’ “With a Little Help From My Friends” became the theme song for The Wonder Years.
