OffBeat Halloween Live Music Guide: Friday, October 28

Masked Band Ball
Local metal and punk label Sheer Terror records are hosting the Masked Band Ball at Santos. Four local bands will cover Alice Cooper, The Ramones, L7 and The Misfits in full costume. The event will also feature DJs Smut, Drugstore Elvis and Matty. At 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Santos. Tickets $15 ($10 with costume).

Haunted Haus
Toulouse Theatre hosts a dance party October 28 featuring DJs Bouffant Bouffant, Nice Rack, and Legatron Prime. At 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Toulouse Theatre. Tickets $25-$40 available at toulousetheatre.com.

Snug Harbor’s Tribute to Harold Batiste, Jr.
Jesse McBride and his band present their annual tribute to his mentor and New Orleans music great, Harold Batiste, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. at Snug Harbor on Frenchmen Street.

Water Seed at the Ace Hotel
“Water Seed’s Wild Nights” tonight is at the Ace Hotel from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

6t’9 Pumpkin Parade
Hosted by The 6t’9 Social Aid & Pleasure Club, this all-ages parade seeks to preserve New Orleans culture and inspire a new generation with it’s second-line celebration of the city’s art and heritage. Chief Victor Harris of Fi Yi Yi, The Treme Kids and the Mystic Krewe of Conus will be joining the parade. It is at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1020 Henriette Delille beside Armstrong Park.

Endless Night: New Orleans Vampire Ball
A weekend-long event, Endless Night: New Orleans Vampire Ball is a series of masquerade ball-themed soirees produced by Father Sebastian and the Sabretooth Clan. The highlight event will be on October 29 at House of Blues. It will be themed after the late Anne Rice and the novel “Interview with a Vampire.” For more information, visit their website.

Possessed By The Sass: Hey Coffee presents Valerie Sassyfras
Come to the Lafitte Greenway to be possessed by the one and only Valerie Sassyfras performing from 9 pm to midnight October 29. She’s a local legend best known for her appearances on the Ellen Show, Ridiculousness on MTV, America’s Got Talent Season 14 and her Oak Street performances. At 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, on the Greenway by Hey Coffee.

A Haunting Affair
A ghoulish celebration brought to you by The Women’s Guild Of The New Orleans Opera Association featuring a costume contest, music by Julio and Cesar, a buffet and themed drinks. At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Guild Home. Tickets are $150 and for more information visit their website.

SPUKTOPIA
Local hip-hop acts BLU and $leazy EZ host an alien-themed dance party to celebrate Scorpios and life, whether it be alien or lifeless. Costumes are encouraged and there will also be music by DJ Hunny Bee, Kushtrim and D1me. At 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Cafe Istanbul. Tickets are available here.

Punk Black Halloween
Four bands, a DJ and a costume contest will be hosted at Gasa Gasa, October 29 for the Punk Black Halloween. Bands featured are Howling Star, The River Dragon, The Rack and Pure Mutt with support from DJ Arkkade Kult. Punk Black is an Atlanta-based media network that features P.O.C. in the Rock, Cosplay Video Game and Nerd-Lore communities. At 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Gasa Gasa. Hell’s Gala
Presented by WCP and Encore Entertainment, the 13th annual Hell’s Gala is a Halloween-themed dance party with a costume contest, performers, food trucks and two stages of music. This year’s headliners are Fisher, Troyboi, Walker & Royce, and Nala. At 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Mardi Gras World Ballroom and Riverfront. Tickets are $45 to $150 and are available here.

Galactic Halloween Special
Tipitina’s presents the Galactic Halloween Special on October 29 with Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph and support by The Company Stores. At 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Tip’s. Tickets are $38 and are available here.

Emo Night at Republic NOLA
Republic is hosting a special Emo Night celebrating both Halloween and their fifth anniversary. At 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Republic NOLA. Tickets start at $6.66 and for more information visit their website.

OffBeat Halloween Live Music Guide: Sunday, October 30

Hangar of Horrors
The Hanger presents the Hangar of Horrors EDM night featuring Dirtybird Records founders Justin Martin, Christian Martin, and Pillowtalk. There will also be live paintings from Mr.Balloon Hands Art and Miss Mandala along with an Art Showcase by Molly Gardner Art, vendors, Tarot Readings and an outdoor silent disco. At 9 p.m. Oct. 30, at The Hangar. Tickets are $30 – $35 and are available here.

Vivacious Burlesque Experience: Devil’s Night
Seen on everything from Netflix to Ripley’s Believe It or Not to TED Talks, The Vivacious Burlesque Experience is a world-class burlesque show coming to New Orleans for a special Halloween celebration. The variety show features LadyBEAST, Lola Van Ella, Aria Delanoche, Mz. Juno, AYAA (Franky Canga), Vivacious Miss Audacious, The Great Dane and Eddie Lockwood along with Bri & the Sparkling Diamonds. At 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at The Joy Theater.

Real World NoLa Halloween: The Reckoning
A Halloween dance party encouraging attendants to dress as their favorite pop stars with hosts Danny Roberts and MC Malibu Casey. All proceeds of the event will go to The Covenant House in New Orleans for housing LGBTQ+ youth. At 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at Allways Lounge and Cabaret. Tickets are $44 and are available here.

Spookaplooza!
Named after Sailem and Crux’s album, Spookaplooza! will be an electronic music concert fusing elements of R&B, hip-hop and alternative along with dance routines and skits to create a unique Halloween experience. Lost Angeles, a band from Los Angeles, will also perform. At 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at the AllWays Lounge and Cabaret. Tickets are $30-$50 and are available here.

Halloween Night with People Museum
People Museum and Toonces will perform at Siberia for a special Halloween show, October 31. People Museum recently released a new EP, “Destruction of, Vol. 1.” At 9 p.m., Oct. 31, at Siberia. Tickets are $15 advance and $20 day-off, which you can purchase here.
