Penn State Rock Ethics Institute to Host Roland Guerin and Dr. MarkAlain Déry

Penn State Rock Ethics Institute announces it will host Roland Guerin and Dr. MarkAlain Déry—an infectious diseases physician, epidemiologist and the Chief Innovation Officer with Access Health Louisiana. The duo will discuss their recent collaboration “28 Days”, a song to encourage the public to wear face masks to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. The livestream event will be held December 2 at 1:30 p.m. CST.

According to Louisiana Red Hot Records, “28 Days” serves as an important example of the kind of unlikely alliances that can raise public awareness and acceptance of health guidelines at a critical juncture in the pandemic’s trajectory.

This discussion about art, music, and culture as vehicles for encouraging positive social change will be moderated by Dr. Kristina Douglass, Joyce and Doug Sherwin Early Career Professor in the Rock Ethics Institute and assistant professor of anthropology and African studies.
