The Revivalists rolled into the Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville Virginia on the heels of their new album Men Amongst Mountains and delivered exactly what the ravenous crowd craved on Wednesday, November 11th.

David Shaw and company have seen their star rise fast on the back of their highly energetic stage shows and their deep and soulful songwriting. In Charlottesville the band played with ease of long touring veterans and the passion of a band that really loves what it does.

The Revivalists delivered crushing versions of well-worn past favorites like “BTBD” and “When I’m Able” along with a lot their new songs like “Fade Away”, “All in the Family” and “Men Amongst Mountains”. One of the night’s highlights came when they invited the opening act guitarist, Marcus King to sit in while paying tribute to Allen Toussaint, playing his song “Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley.”

A second highlight was when they celebrated the birthdays of band members Rob Ingraham (sax) and Andrew Campanelli (drums), bringing out a cake and leading the crowd in “Happy Birthday.”
