Returning this year from a three year absence, the Westbank Heritage Festival came back strong to celebrate its sixth year over Labor Day weekend.

On Saturday, Westbank’s own “Chappa” headlined along with Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph in her first year as a solo artist after singing backup for Erica Falls, Tank and the Bangas and fronting Galactic. Jelly was joined by her partner in crime HaSizzle for their hit “Getcha Sum”.

Rap groups Fresh X Reckless and La Reezy, Queen Thelma Douglas Baby Dolls, dance group Cherchez La Femme, New Orleans show band favorite Royal Essence, R&B group Street Lyfe, and closing out the opening day was the neo-soul sound of Musiq Soulchild. Closing out the festival on Sunday night was local soul singer “Tucka”.
