Haitian art for sale at the Piety Market in Exile.

Piety Market in Exile plans to reopen in mid-September

The Piety Market in Exile will reopen for business on Saturday, September 18, in adjoining lots at the intersection of St. Claude Avenue and Spain Street.

Market Manager Cree McCree announced in an email, “With people itching to get back to some kind of normality in this surreal year of Delta surges and Ida damage and outages, Piety will offer vendors and shoppers alike the chance to mask up and recover with live music, art, yummy food and camaraderie!”

Visitors may browse a bounty of local creative art, handmade crafts, natural beauty products, impeccably curated vintage clothes, flea market finds and other assorted ephemera at New Orleans’most eclectic market. The market also features vibrant Haitian art, with profits going directly to artists in Haiti, which recently suffered its own disastrous earthquake.

As with previous pandemic-era markets, vendors will set up booths outdoors from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
