Drive-up Food Pantry Continues for Hospitality, Gig Economy Workers

District C Councilmember Kristin Gisleson Palmer and Second Harvest Food Bank are continuing the drive-up food pantry for hospitality and gig workers who have been affected by COVID-19. With assistance from local advocacies Second Harvest Food Bank and Culture Aid NOLA, the drive-up food pantry has provided workers affected by the COVID-19 lockdown with food in their time of need.

In addition to food and monetary donations, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, and Clorox or Lysol cleaning sprays are accepted for first responders. Second Harvest Food Bank has begun to run low on non-perishable foods and monetary donations that sustain its relief efforts during this time. They urgently request donations and volunteers to support their emergency relief food efforts. To find out how you can help, email [email protected] or consider making a donation here

The drive-up food pantry will be held on Tuesday, March 31 from 9 am to 12 pm at Connect Church of Algiers, located at 1110 Kabel Drive, New Orleans, LA 70131. It will also take place on Thursday, April 2 from 9 am to 12 pm at Holy Angels, located at 3500 St. Claude Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117.
