Where to See July 4th Fireworks in the New Orleans Area

New Orleans–and the rest of the United States of America–will celebrate Independence Day with a variety of fireworks displays this weekend. These Fourth of July extravaganzas will take place throughout the metropolitan area, and a few of them won’t even be on July 4. We’ve compiled a list of some of the bigger events in the region to help you choose the party that suits your Fourth of July needs.

Westwego Farmers & Fisheries Market: Brad Sapia will perform at the Westwego space from 7pm to 10pm on Friday, July 1. There will be fireworks display after the concert. Admission is free.

City Park: New Orleans’ City Park will celebrate “3rd of July” on Sunday with a performance from The Marine Corps Band of New Orleans. The party will take place at the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn. Music begins at 7pm and the firework display begins at 9pm. Admission is free.

Uncle Sam Jam: This July 3rd celebration will go down at Lafreniere Park’s Al Copeland concert & Meadow Stage in Metairie on Sunday. The event will go from 3pm to 10pm, and will include sets from Remedy, 90 Degrees West, Thompson Square, Sara Evans and Joe Nichols. A fireworks display will take place at 9pm. Admission is free, but parking will cost $5.

Go 4th on the River: This Independence Day extravaganza-one of the largest in the area–takes place on the Mississippi River on Monday night. The annual fireworks show features a pair of barges, which serve as the launching points for the dazzling display. The explosions will be easily visible from Algiers Point and the French Quarter, as well as the new Crescent Park. The recently-opened park will host a DJ dance party, food trucks and more in the hours leading up to the fireworks. Admission to all public viewing locations is free.

Bucktown Bash: This Independence Day celebration will begin at noon on Monday the Bucktown Marina in Metairie. The event will feature performances by Wet Willie, The Water Meters and Harvey Jesus & Fire. A fireworks display will take place at 8:15pm. Admission is $5, but kids ages 12 and under get in free.

Pontchartrain Landing: The Untamed Few will perform at this event at New Orleans’ Pontchartrain Landing & Lighthouse Bar. Music begins at 7pm and fireworks will be displayed at 9pm.

Zephyrs Stadium: The New Orleans Zephyrs (they won’t be called that for long) will host their annual 4th of July party at the team’s stadium in Metairie on Monday. The event will feature a fireworks show, which is set to take place after the Zephyrs play the Round Rock Rock Express. The game begins at 6pm, and admission is $9-$12.

Mandeville’s Celebration on the Lake: Rick Sampson and Four Unplugged will perform at this Independence Day celebration on the Mandeville Lakefront. The event kicks off at 4pm, and the firework display will go down after dusk. Admission is free.
