Six of Saturns performance series at Ace Hotel will include conversation with CeeLo Green

Following the initial lineup announcement for Six of Saturns, the annual 10-day celebration of music and culture at Three Keys—the on-site music venue for Ace Hotel New Orleans—the remaining acts have been revealed, including an event with five-time Grammy Award-winning entertainer CeeLo Green. Six of Saturns returns to Ace Hotel New Orleans from April 28 to May 8.

Green will appear on Thursday, April 28, from 6-10 p.m., joining Dr. Scott Heath, a Loyola professor of African American literature, Black pop culture and speculative race theory, for an intimate conversation about Green’s journey from Goodie Mob to the hit song “Crazy.” Open to the public, and with discounted tickets available for students, the talk wll take place at Barnett Hall inside the Ace Hotel. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit two local New Orleans nonprofits, Son of a Saint and Roots of Music, both dedicated to the empowerment of the city’s youth through education and mentorship programs.

“Son of a Saint and Roots of Music are two organizations that are shaping the future of New Orleans through youth mentorship,” says Jevon Thompson, music and programming director for Three Keys. “By offering students and locals the chance to hear from an artist like CeeLo, who has blazed a fascinating and multifaceted career, we hope to help further both organizations’ efforts in the community.”

On Friday, April 29, the Six of Saturns stage will welcome soul singer Grace Gibson, followed by an after-party at Ace Hotel’s Lobby Bar with DJ Soul Sister. A surprise special guest is still to be announced to take the marquee spot on Saturday, April 30. To round out week one, on Sunday, May 1, Steve Lands Threauxdown will be performing a jazz and brass jam led by Steve Lands, featuring Stephen Gladney on tenor sax (The Rumble), Emily Fredrickson on trombone (New Orleans Jazz Orchestra), John Maestas on guitar, Peter Varnado on drums, Steven Glenn on tuba, plus special guests People Museum, Terrence Higgins and DJ Kuti.
