Tank and the Bangas, Galactic & more slated for Drive-In Concert Series

New Orleans music fans will have an opportunity to see live performances from Tank and the Bangas, Galactic featuring Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, and the Revivalists this summer. C3 Presents, the production team behind the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, announced today (June 23) the NOLA Drive-In Summer Concert Series, a three-part outdoor concert experience taking place July 10, July 17 and July 24 at the Lakefront Arena.

Social-distancing guidelines will be enforced, which is why the outdoor event is able to take place while the City of New Orleans remains in Phase 2 of reopening. Each Car Pass ticket comes with a 20′ x 17′ parking spot with labeled boundaries, “including a dedicated tailgating space to enjoy the concert outside of your car with a six-foot cushion between neighbors to provide safe distancing.”

Full-electric sets will be performed by the bands on a stage in the arena’s parking lot, accompanied by LED screens and fully amplified sound. An FM radio channel will broadcast the event for easy listening inside one’s vehicle. There will be touch-free options for purchasing merchandise via a PayPal QR code. One-hundred per cent of all merchandise sales will be donated to Crew Nation, a global relief fund for live music crews.

Onsite, attendees will not be able to purchase concessions, so it’s a BYOB-friendly event. Blankets and chairs are also allowed, as long as folks stay within their designated personal tailgate party space.

“The safety of fans, artists and staff is our top priority and CDC, State of Louisiana and City of New Orleans guidelines will be followed to ensure a safe and enjoyable event,” organizers said in a press release. Fans are required to wear masks unless within the boundaries of the designated tailgate space.
