Threadhead Cultural Foundation opens 2017 raffle

The Threadhead Cultural Foundation (THCF) has opened up its 2017 online raffle. Interested parties can enter through Sunday, April 16.

This year’s prizes include Jazz Fest night show tickets like North Mississippi Osborne, Paul Sanchez’s Baby Taylor “tour bus guitar” from his Cowboy Mouth days, VIP tickets to Bonnaroo and much more. THCF has hosted a raffle each year since the raffle was launched after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, with the proceeds going to a variety of non-profit organizations and causes. This year’s beneficiaries will be the Threadhead Cultural Foundation, the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic and local free youth music clinics.

As previously reported, THCF will host a couple of events during Jazz Fest season, including their annual (and free) Threadhead Thursday show with Marcia Ball, Brass-A-Holics and Paul Sanchez & The Rolling Road Show on April 27. Their annual Threadhead Patry (no, that’s not a typo) will take place on May 2 and will feature The subdudes, Naughty Professor, Feufollet with special guest Aurora Nealand, Ed Volker’s Do Rad Choppers, Erica Falls Band and The Asylum Chorus.

THCF is a nonprofit organization that promotes New Orleans culture’s by issuing grants and assisting the city’s artistic community. In 2016, the organization offered grants to to a number of music and cultural endeavors, including the Upbeat Academy Music Foundation, the Danny Barker Banjo and Guitar Festival, Craig Klein’s second solo album and the Jamie Galloway Crawfish Boil fundraiser.
