Chelsea Light Moving plays One Eyed Jacks on Monday, November 4 2013 at 9:00 p.m.

Taking its name from a moving company once owned and operated by avant-garde composer Philip Glass, Moore’s new outfit — and first since the dissolution of his longtime band Sonic Youth and marriage to its bassist Kim Gordon in 2011 — Chelsea Light Moving incorporates guitarist Keith Wood, drummer John Moloney, bassist and multi-instrumentalist Samara Lubelski. Both Moloney and Lubelski previously accompanied Moore on his 2007 solo effort Trees Outside the Academy, while Wood’s solo project Hush Arbors has released a pair of albums on Moore’s Ecstatic Peace! imprint.

Earlier this year, Chelsea Light Moving dropped its eponymous debut LP, a 10-song endeavor that burns with the sinister veracity of Sonic Youth’s 1987 scorcher Sister smoldering in the incendiary squalls and slacker cynicism of 2009’s The Eternal. Since the album’s release, Chelsea Light Moving has toured steadily in its support. The band’s current junket, which includes a set at Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest next week, is its first since swinging through Europe this summer.

Doors for Chelsea Light Moving’s concert at One Eyed Jacks on Monday open at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $16 and currently available online. Enter below for a chance to score a pair compliments of our pals at OEJs. The lucky winner will be notified on Monday afternoon.
