Valerie Sassyfras set to perform annual ‘Horny and Lazy Christmas Spectacular’

Valerie Sassyfras, a one-woman band of accordion, mandolin, and keyboard with villainously hip choreography and a visual style that will leave one with psychedelic afterburn, will host her annual “Horny and Lazy Christmas Spectacular” on Thursday, December 16, from 8–11 p.m. at the Old Point Bar in Algiers.

Now in her eighth year performing throughout Louisiana, Sassyfras’ holiday gig has been an annual event since 2015 at the Old Point Bar. “I want everyone to pull out their most fabulous Christmas ensemble or ugly sweater and prepare for a T-Rex of a good time on December 16th,” said Sassyfras. “It’s guaranteed to be a naughty good time!”

As an added bonus for her fans, known collectively as “Sassers,” Sassyfras will raffle one of her signature “Yardi Parties” staged at a location of the winner’s choosing.

A one-of-a-kind entertainer with Louisiana roots, Sassyfras’ life story was featured in a documentary Nobody May Come, which won an award for best cinematography at the 2020 New Orleans Film Festival. Sassyfras recounts her childhood in the documentary and explains how she came to embrace show business. She became nationally famous by appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show in 2018. She also appeared on MTV’s Ridiculousness in 2018 and America’s Got Talent on NBC in 2019.

The Old Point Bar is located 545 Patterson Road in the Algiers Point neighborhood of New Orleans. For more information about Valerie Sassyfras, visit here.
