Video: No one in Louisiana boils seafood like this

The INSIDER food Facebook page describes itself as “the place for all things food-related, including recipes, hacks, good eats, and more.” This, it seems, is false.

The culinary-centric outlet posted a video of what it calls “the ULTIMATE seafood feast” on Wednesday, though Louisianans may question the validity of that statement. Shot at a New York City restaurant called Claw Daddy’s, the seafood feast at hand appears to involve plenty of crawfish, crabs and shrimp, but little in the way of seasoning. Well, there is some seasoning. It’s just that it doesn’t enter the equation until after the boil.

This would all be perfectly fine if Louisiana and it’s time-honored traditions were never invoked. However, the background music and the references to Cajun culture make it clear that the producers were going out of their way to connect whatever this is to our way of life, and that simply doesn’t fly.

As one commenter noted, “This is a travesty. Those crawfish *DESERVE* to be boiled in seasoned water.”

File this one next to quinoa gumbo.
