New Orleans is in the peak of what should be festival season. Instead, citywide concerts are happening online in the era of coronavirus.
Week five of OffBeat’s Weekly Stream column lists online, virtual “gigs” from Louisiana musicians who are performing through social media and other digital platforms during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With music venues and festivals shut down and postponed or canceled, many musicians are relying primarily on tips and donations collected via apps like Venmo and PayPal.
