Yelp’s Krewe du Vieux tailgate returns ahead of ‘Beat-Off’ Parade

Yelp New Orleans returns with its Krewe du Vieux tailgate on Saturday, February 4 from 12-4 p.m ahead of the annual Krewe du Vieux parade, whose theme is “Krewe du Vieux Beats Off.”. This year, the celebration will again take place on the New Orleans Jazz Museum grounds with live music by DJ PeeWee and The Original Pinettes Brass Band as well as local bites and libations.

While the Krewe du Vieux tailgate is free to attend via RSVP on the event page, a minimum donation of $20 is suggested to support the museum.

“The New Orleans Jazz Museum is thrilled to once again partner with Yelp New Orleans for the 2023 Krewe du Vieux kickoff party,” said Greg Lambousy, director of the New Orleans Jazz Museum. “Last year, our grounds overflowed with guests having a great time and also with many great local vendors. Overall the event was truly a success. We can’t wait to kick off Krewe de Vieux again with Yelp New Orleans for this wonderful fundraising event.” It’s especially appropriate, considering that the Queen and “royalty”who will be reigning over Krewe du Vieux are OffBeat Publisher Jan Ramsey and her husband and “Prince Consort” Joseph Irrera (OffBeat’s offices are located in the New Orleans Jazz Museum on the first floor.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this event back for its 11th year to celebrate the city and give back to an organization that’s preserving its culture, the New Orleans Jazz Museum,” says Jordan Vernon, Yelp New Orleans’ community manager. “The tailgate is such a great way to get our local community engaged with and supporting these awesome local businesses while we all have a little Mardi Gras fun.”

All donations will benefit the non-profit museum. Must be 21 years of age and older to attend.
