Baton Rouge Blues Festival Shifts to Online Performance Series

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation will present an online music series beginning in April launched by the Baton Rouge Blues Festival. Regularly scheduled blues music from the 2020 festival lineup of musicians will be at the center of the online series, though online content will be available to followers and patrons of the stream.

Live sessions will occur every Wednesday night at 8 p.m. CST on IGTV from the Baton Rouge Blues Festival account (@brbluesfest), #mybrblues, and the sessions will be posted later on the Facebook account. This first performance was by local Baton Rouge blues performer Kenny Neal and was scheduled for April 1.

The online series is free and will feature performances from internationally known and local blues acts that are enjoyable for the entire family. The series is co-presented by Smoke Free Music Cities and Baton Rouge Blues Festival Partners including the City of Baton Rouge, AETNA, Louisiana Office of Tourism, Raising Canes, and more.

Going on its 26th year, the Baton Rouge Blues Festival is a free, fun-filled weekend that brings together blues musicians and the concert-goers that support them, featuring music from local and national-regarded blues artists. The Baton Rouge Blues Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 that is dedicated to supporting and sustaining the blues musical culture of Baton Rouge.
