Dave Jordan & The NIA to Play CD Release Show

Dave Jordan & The NIA will celebrate their new album, No Losers Tonight, with a CD release show at the Maple Leaf in New Orleans this Friday, April 1. The show will also feature an opening set from Gregory “Wolf” Hodges with Cornell Williams, Big D Perkins & Jamison Ross.

IMG_2375No Losers Tonight was produced by New Orleans Suspects saxophonist Jeff Watkins with grant money from the Threadhead Cultural Foundation.

“The NIA is a collective. It was set up that way from the beginning and this record really represents that and the strength of these musicians,” Jordan explains. “Whereas most of my albums are written primarily by me, often with songs from my back catalog, this record has largely been written in the last few months with all sorts of collaborators and co-writesrs. This is the sound of what we are as a band.”

“And on a very personal note,” Jordan adds. “From Jeff Watkins producing, to co-writing with Mike Doussan and Joe Armitage, to Andre Bohren and the rest of the NIA arranging, it’s a collaboration of me getting to make a record with some of my lifelong nearest and dearest friends. And it rocks.”

Tickets for the Maple Leaf will show be available at the door for $10.
