EXCLUSIVE: M.A.T.B. (f.k.a. Miranda and The Beat) Debut New Video for SPATZ

M.A.T.B. (formerly Miranda and The Beat) has spent the better part of the last decade building a reputation for loud, unrelenting rock and roll. Formed in New York City and now based in New Orleans, the band combines garage rock swagger, punk energy and a relentless touring ethic that has earned them a devoted following on both sides of the Atlantic.

Fronted by vocalist and guitarist Miranda “Randy” Zipse alongside longtime collaborator Dylan “Baby” Fernandez on Farfisa and guitar, M.A.T.B. is rounded out by bassist Alvin “M.F.” Jackson and drummer Christian “Sugar” King. Together, the quartet has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, sharing stages with acts including The Black Lips, The Spits, The King Khan & BBQ Show, Bad Nerves, The Gories and The Mystery Lights.

The band has released music through Third Man Records, Khannibalism/Ernest Jenning Record Co. and Wild Honey. Their recordings have also benefited from the involvement of notable collaborators including Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and producer Paul Millar.

M.A.T.B.’s forthcoming album, Nerve Damage, expands upon the band’s garage-punk foundation by incorporating elements of 1980s new wave, hardcore punk and Neue Deutsche Welle. The result is a collection of songs that balances sharp hooks with a darker, more atmospheric edge.

Tracks such as “SPATZ” showcase the band’s raw intensity and off-kilter charm, while “Make It On My Own” captures the urgency and momentum that have become hallmarks of M.A.T.B.’s sound. With Nerve Damage, the group continues to push forward, delivering a record that is equal parts abrasive, catchy and unapologetically loud.
