Fête du Void offers fall weekend of music acts and on-site camping

For the fourth consecutive year, Fête du Void will feature an outdoor musical experience at a rural location near Oakdale, Louisiana, in Allen Parish. More than 40 acts will appear on six stages over the weekend of October 1–2 with with the option of on-site camping for attendees. 

Both national and regional Louisiana based acts will be featured, including Karmic Juggernaut (New Jersey), TC Broken Third Eye Open (California), Rusty Metoyer and the Zydeco Krush, Acid Carousel (Denton, Texas), Roddie Romero vs. Michael Juan Nuñez, Quarx , Mike Dillon, Tasche and Psychedelic Roses, People Museum, Riarosa, Loudness War, Bakey’s Brew, Hellen Gillet vs. Brian Haas, Captain Green, In Da Skreet, CardboardCowboy, Zoomst, The Main Entrée, Tristan Dufrene b2b Otto (DJ Set), Benni, Secret Handshake (DJ set), R!LLO, GNVRLY and The Quadroholics. 

Fête du Void is the brainchild of two members of the Iceman Special band, guitarist Hunter Romero and bass player Charlie Murray. 

“Fête du Void represents a new generation of Louisiana culture,” said Romero. “It holds on to the unique values that the music and culture in the South has given people since the early 1950s. It’s not ya mamma’s zydeco, but it definitely will move and shake you sin some type of way. This diverse lineup full of different genres represents what inspires The Iceman Special. This is where our music stylings come from.” 

The community-oriented event will take place on the grounds of the historic Hardwood Mill (1194 W. Santa Fe Road in Oakdale), 185 miles northwest of New Orleans. Food and art vendors will also have booths at the location. For the sake of safety during the pandemic, the festival has a limited capacity of tickets available for sale.
