Calling All Musicians! French Quarter Fest Is Accepting Applications

Next spring, French Quarter Fest will once again turn the Vieux Carré into a sprawling music festival with more than 20 stages located throughout the historic district. For local artists especially, the festival is an opportunity to showcase the brilliant hues of Louisiana music to tens of thousands of attendees, both locals and tourists. Known as the largest showcase of our state’s music and culture in the world, folks can always expect to hear a mix of New Orleans funk, brass bands, jazz, R&B, gospel, folk, Latin, zydeco, classical, hip-hop, cabaret and global music. Now is the time for musicians embodying any and all of those genres to get in the game for French Quarter Fest 2019.

French Quarter Festivals, Inc. (FQFI) has opened the application process for local performers interested in a slot at the 2019 festival. Applications are available online here and the application process remains open through September 1, 2018. According to FQFI, “The Entertainment Committee, comprised of French Quarter Festivals, Inc. (FQFI) board members, former board members, artists, and others, approves all applications. The Committee’s objective is to ensure the best possible selection of performers for French Quarter Festival and Satchmo SummerFest in order to create a diverse and a quality experience for festival-goers. Selection is made at the discretion of the Committee.”
