Iceland’s Sigur Ros Will Bring Their Orchestral Rock Show to New Orleans

Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros will return to New Orleans when they headline the Saenger Theatre on Sunday, May 21.

Sigur Ros has developed an international reputation for their fusion of rock and orchestral song structures. However, the band has taken a different approach to its live show on recent tours, performing as a trio and eschewing the string, brass, and other auxiliary musicians that have filled out their sound in the past.

Their next outing will continue this experiment when they make their way across the United States over the course of April, May and June. Instead of touring with an opening act, Sigur Ros will perform two sets—complete with an intermission between them—every night.

Tickets for Sigur Ros at the Saenger Theatre will go on sale Friday, December 16 at 10am.
