Italian singer Andrea Bocelli announces first NOLA performance

Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli announced new US tour dates including his first performance in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center with The Louisiana Philharmonic on February 11 at 8 p.m.

The 2023 concerts will feature songs from Bocelli’s wide-ranging repertoire, ranging from early fan favorites to his latest full-length studio album Believe, as well as a selection of arias, his crossover hits and famed love songs. Tickets are available here.

Expert in Italian vocal tradition, Andrea Bocelli has sold over 90 million records to date. He was born visually impaired and, at age 12, became completely blind following a brain hemorrhage resulting from a football accident. After performing evenings in piano bars and competing in local singing contests, Bocelli signed his first recording contract with the Sugar Music label.

He honed his vocal skills under the guidance of his mentor, Franco Corelli, becoming famous after winning the Sanremo Music Festival in 1994. His career began soon after – performing masterpieces from the opera repertoire on stage, conducted by Lorin Maazel, Seiji Ozawa and Zubin Mehta.

Throughout his career, Bocelli has received 6 Grammy and 6 Latin Grammy award nominations. He has performed for four Presidents of the United States of America, three Popes, the British Royal Family, many Prime Ministers and also at the ceremonies of the Olympic Games, the Universal Expo in Shanghai in 2010 and the Universal Expo in Milan in 2015.
