Jazz Fest Reveals Daily Music Schedules

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has unveiled its daily music schedules for 2016. The info–aka “the cubes”–was released today during the festival’s annual “Month Out” press conference at the Fair Grounds, along with the festival’s latest map. You can check out the cubes via Jazz Fest’s official website.

As previously reported, this year’s Jazz Fest will feature headlining performances from Stevie Wonder, Neil Young with Promise of the Real, Paul Simon, Pearl Jam, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, My Morning Jacket, Snoop Dogg, Van Morrison, Steely Dan, Beck, J. Cole, Flo Rida, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Gary Clark Jr., Bonnie Raitt, Herbie Hancock & Wayne Shorter and many more.

Due to the dense nature of Jazz Fest’s lineup, this year’s cubes have once again revealed a number of conflicting performances that will force festival goers to make big decisions, particularly during the headlining time slots. For instance, fans will have to choose between Steely Dan, Gov’t Mule, Sharon Jones and Janelle Monae on Friday, April 22, while Saturday, April 23 features conflicts between Pearl Jam, Van Morrison and Boz Scaggs (the fact that Pearl Jam will be playing a 2.5 hour set should make things easier for some).

Tedeschi Trucks Band and Friends featuring Jimmie Vaughan will go up against Elvis Costello & The Imposters and Snarky Puppy on Thursday, April 28, with Paul Simon, My Morning Jacket and Ms. Lauryn Hill sharing the same slot on Friday, April 29. On Saturday, April 30, fans will need to choose between Stevie Wonder, Beck, Buddy Guy and Snoop Dogg. The festival’s final day–Sunday, May 1–features a number of big conflicts, as Neil Young goes up against Bonnie Raitt and Mavis Staples, and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue go up against the fest’s tribute to the late B.B. King.

In related news, Jazz Fest has also recently announced that previously confirmed headliner Julia Iglesias will be unable to attend this year’s event. He has been replaced by Colombian performer Carolos Vives.
