Juvenile’s ‘400 Degreez’ is getting its first official vinyl reissue

The 5x-platinum selling Juvenile album 400 Degreez is getting its inaugural official reissue on vinyl, courtesy of Vinyl Me, Please.

It’s a historic milestone for an LP that continues to feel impactful, 20 years since its release. As Vinyl Me, Please wrote of the classic, “It’s the first record Cash Money distributed in tandem with Universal’s resources. Cash Money was an Army (and Navy) and Juvenile became the first breakout star, finally separating the imprint from a longstanding debt owed to the successes of Master P and No Limit Records, and finally giving the South another voice against hip-hop’s dominant bicoastal narrative. They stood not in opposition to the East or the West; it was time for the South to speak yet again.”

Head of Editorial and Classics A&R for Vinyl Me, Please, Andrew Winistorfer said, “We realized that 400 Degreez had never been officially released, and we needed to do that…this one feels like a really straight-forward release: It’s never been on vinyl, and here it is. Come get it.”

Vinyl Me, Please is also responsible for putting together a Cash Money Primer for music fans, which you can see here.
