Louisiana Fish Fry announced that 140,000 meal donations were raised through its “Let’s Sing, Louisiana” charity campaign. The song campaign encouraged Louisiana residents to submit videos of themselves, families and friends singing the Louisiana state anthem, “You Are My Sunshine.” The meal donations go directly to families in need during the current crisis.
Due to the massive amount of received submissions, Louisiana Fish Fry was able to donate 60,000 meals to The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and 80,000 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans.

They need our help now more than ever.”
The campaign was created as means of spreading joy in the region while providing for those in need in the midst of the coronavirus crisis. The overwhelming response from the community demonstrated the love and resilient spirit of Louisiana. As stated by Mike Manning, CEO of Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, “The outpouring of love and support is an inspiring testament to the spirit of Louisiana and its sense of community that withstands even the toughest times.” President and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank, Natalie Jayroe, echoes this sentiment, saying “This unique project gave Louisianans from all backgrounds an opportunity to join together in support of our mission and we are so appreciative of the generosity demonstrated.”
