This year, My Morning Jacket has had a love affair going with New Orleans. Singer Jim James recorded tracks for Preservation, the recent album from the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and My Morning Jacket took the Hall band on tour with them this spring. This year they played Jazz Fest and a special show in Preservation Hall that ended when they led an impromptu second line out into the Quarter. They’ve been performing “Mother-in-Law” and “Carnival Time” on tour, and they’ve been added to the lineup for the Voodoo Experience, which takes place the Halloween weekend in City Park.
